The struggle for counsellors to be recognised as professionals has been a long fought battle. The backyard birth of the profession has caused a distorted view of the profession by the public.

The change and growth must come from within.

 

In her career as a counsellor and supervisor of other counsellors, Merrilyn has left a professional footprint. She built a practice with the goals of sharing her knowledge and experience, and of planning for success and succession.

In her book, Best Practice, she continues to share her plan for a successful practice to others in the counselling profession. Blending stories of her own experiences, Merrilyn guides you through:

As a counsellor, author, coach and mentor, Merrilyn aims to give back to the profession that has been her passion for years. Through Best Practice and the associated Best Practice Program, Merrilyn hopes to use the principles of Sharing, Support and Synergy to optimise the careers of other and future counsellors for success and succession.

 

Merrilyn lives in Perth, Western Australia with her husband. Her four children and two grandchildren fill her days with joy. After many years running a successful counselling practice and clinically supervising other counsellors, she is now semi-retired.
